Businesses such an activity, whose purpose is to earn profit by producing human goods, by continuously producing goods and services.
Or even easier to say,
Learn Business and its features
Business dealing
The business is the process of producing goods and services for the purpose of profit, and passing the goods and services to the consumer, which keeps on working continuously.
But in business, there is sometimes profit or sometimes loss.

Meaning of Business:

In a narrow sense, business refers to the purchase and sale of goods.

But in a broader sense, business is the sum of all the actions that are taken from the production of goods and services to the end consumers.

Here the meaning of services is those actions which are done to transport goods from the place of production to the place of consumption;

Such as transport and conveyance, insurance, warehousing, banking, etc.

Definition of Buisness:

The term vocation has been defined in various ways by different scholars from time to time.  Some of the main definitions are as follows:

1. Dr.WR Sprigal, "all actions that are performed for the production and sale of goods or services"

2. The business may be defined as human activity directed towards producing or acquiring wealth through buying or selling goods.-L.H Haney.

Characteristics of Business:

  1. An Economic Activity
  2. Exchange of Goods and Services
  3. Regularity in Dealings
  4. Profit Motive
  5. Element of Risk
  6. Creation of Utility
  7. Consumer Satisfaction

An Economic Activity:

The business includes only economic activities.  Economic activity refers to the receipt of money by the exchange of goods and services.  Therefore, to consider an action as a business, it is necessary that it is an economic activity performed by a person;  Such as - buying and selling goods by a shopkeeper.

Exchange of Goods and Services:

Transfer of goods or services is absolutely necessary for business.

This means that if a person purchases an item or service for his own consumption, then this action will not be called business.

For example, if a shopkeeper buys some
goods from the market for use at his home, then this is not a business activity.
But when the same goods are bought for the purpose of selling at the shop, then this action will be called business.

Similarly, if the owner of a vehicle uses it to carry his household goods, then it is not a business activity.
But when the same vehicle is used to carry the goods of other people continuously, then this action will come under business.
But it is a continuous service to others.

Regularity in Dealings:

In fact, business refers to the economic activity that must be continuous i.e.

purchases and sales should happen again and again.
If this action happens occasionally instead of continuously, then it would come under business.

For example, a person sold his scooter when it was old and bought a new one.

Purchasing is being done here, but in the absence of continuity, this practice will not be called business.

Profit Motive:

In order for a trade-off to be considered a business, it is necessary that the objective of the businessman should be to earn a profit.

But sometimes while trying for profit - there can be a loss.

It cannot be said that if any behavior is lost, he will be out of business.

need is that the behavior should be aimed at making a profit, whatever the outcome.

The element of Risk:

The business should not be considered as a flower bed.

There are thorns in the steps, meaning problems arise.

These barriers can lead to a loss.
Witha small mistake or due to not being able to solve a problem, the entire business can end.

Therefore, like sunlight, shade, and sorrow - happiness, profit, and loss also go together in business.

Creation of Utility:

In order to make the goods more useful to society, various types of utilities are created by the business.,

Economically utility is created in many ways;  Such as location utility, form utility, time utility, proprietary utility, etc.

By moving the goods from the production place to the consumption place, the utility is created by changing their size, form utility, depositing them in the storage houses, time utility, and purchasing and selling them.

Consumer Satisfaction:

While the objective of business should be profit-making,
on the other hand, consumer satisfaction is equally important.

It is futile to desire profit without consumer satisfaction.

The expansion of business also depends on consumer satisfaction.

Therefore, the businessman should provide goods and services according to the preferences of consumers to achieve success.
